INDIANAPOLIS—The UIndy men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up their indoor season on the final day of the NCAA DII National Championships. This year's national meet was part of the DII Winter Festival in Indy, which featured track and field, swimming and diving, and wrestling.

Despite the projection to finish 25th at the meet, the Greyhound men's team finished 13th in the team standings with 14 points. On the women's side, the Greyhounds earned seven points finishing 26th in the team standings. Pittsburg St. captured both the women's and men's titles with 63 and 76 points, respectively.

SATURDAY
Josue Le Cadre was the sole Hound to compete on the final day of competition. After placing fourth in the 800m prelims yesterday, the sophomore took to the track for the finals today. Le Cadre remained steady in third place for the first two laps around the 200m banked track but turned on the jets for the final two laps.

 The Frenchman was neck-and-neck with Lake Erie's Harry Ross-Hughes heading into the final stretch. Le Cadre and Ross-Hughes had a photo finish, where the Storm team member edged past the Greyhound by 0.03 seconds. In his first National Championships, Le Cadre earned his first All-America nod with a second-place finish with 1:48.95.

FRIDAY
Alex Meyer captured his first All-America finish during the men's long jump. Meyer set a new personal best with a mark of 7.45m in his first jump of the day. This mark carried the sophomore through finals and placed third. Meyer competed in the high jump next. He cleared his first height of 2.01m but was successful at the next height, Meyer tied for 15th.

Two Greyhounds competed in the women's weight throw on the second day of competition.
Zoe Pentecost earned sixth All-America title after placing third in the event. Pentecost's first throw was a season's best at 19.92m which secured her podium finish.
Audra Hogan also competed in the event. In her first National Championship, the senior placed 18th with a mark of 16.27m.

Josue Le Cadre took on the 800m preliminary race on Friday. As the sole Greyhound to qualify in an individual running event, he entered the race with the best time. Le Cadre competed in the first heat. It was a close race but the Frenchman won his heat by 0.19 seconds. Le Cadre's time of 1:50.31, the fourth fastest time going into finals tomorrow.

The men's distance medley relay (DMR) capped off day two of the championships.
Josue Le Cadre was the lead runner for the Greyhounds, running 800m.
Josiah Adams took on the 400m, followed by
Tom Saint-Juvin running 1200m. The anchor for the Hounds was
Felix Rivet. Saint-Juvin and Rivet helped UIndy move up from 12th to ninth during the race, competling the relay in 9:48.85.

THURSDAY
Ellie Lengerich was named All-America after finishing eighth in the competition with 3798 points. With this mark, the senior breaks her own school record she set last year at the Indoor National Championships by eight points.

Lengerich set two new personal bests during the competition; in the 60m hurdles and the shot put. In the hurdles, she ran a 9.09 and reached 11.33m in the shot put. The St. Leon, Ind. native had her best performance in the high jump, clearing 1.68m, placing third in the event.

UP NEXT
The UIndy squads will rest for a few weeks as they prepare for the outdoor season. The first meet on deck for the Greyhounds will be the Wash U Distance Carnival at the end of the month. The two-day meet will begin on Thursday, Mar. 27, in St. Louis, Mo.
