NEW ORLEANS—After facing some of the best runners in the country at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational, UIndy junior
Josue Le Cadre secured his second United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Athlete of the Week honor this season.
Le Cadre placed fifth in the packed competition with a time of 1:46.97, placing him second all-time in Division II in the indoor 800m and breaking his previous Greyhound record in the event.

Josue le Cadre spooked the record books on Friday the 13th.
The junior from France became one of two men in NCAA DII history to break 1:47.00 in the 800 meters. He raced to the line in 1:46.97 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, coming within three tenths of a second of the all-time record set by Oussama El Bouchayby in 2023.
Though the results yielded a runner-up place finish, Le Cadre was undoubtedly the underdog heading in. He was paired with Matthew Erickson out of Oregon, who stood atop the podium in the end. The same Erickson that claimed the NCAA Indoor title in the event last winter.
This is the second time that Le Cadre has been named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week during this indoor season. Le Cadre previously earned national weekly honors on January 19.
