INDIANAPOLIS— The University of Indianapolis men's and women's track and field teams are ready to host the 26th annual GLVC Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend in the ARC.
The men's squad is seeded first in the conference this indoor season, with eleven performances seeded in the top three, including three that sit atop the conference in Josue Le Cadre in the 800m, the Distance Medley Relay team of Le Cadre, Lateef Mustafaa, Yanis Le Mouillour, and Felix Rivet, and Alex Meyer in the long jump.Â
Rivet is seeded second in the 3k while Le Mouillour holds the same position in the 800m. UIndy is seeded for a second and third-place finish in the men's mile, with Le Cardre entering the weekend just in front of Rivet in the event. Â
Mayhew is slated for two podium finishes, currently sitting second this season in the shot put and third in the weight throw.Â
The Hounds have the potential for two more top-three finishers with the 4x400 squad of Mustafaa, Jalen Larkey, Le Mouillour and Le Cadre, and Cole Hurt in the heptathalon hold the third-highest performances in their events before the championships.Â
The women's squad is seeded for a third-place finish with eight performers within the top three of their respective events.Â
Francesca Maurino enters the championships ranked first in the GLVC in the high jump and the triple jump while fellow Italian Vivian Osagie holds the top spot in the women's weight. The Hounds hold the top two spots in the women's weight throw with junior, Macie Swinehart, seeded just behind top-ranked Maya Efodi.In the pole vault, the Hounds are seeded second and third in the conference, with Mackenzie VanBibber leading the squad just in front of Elise Kroder in third. Sophomore Loria Snowden also ranks in the top three in the women's shot put for the Greyhounds.Â
