INDIANAPOLIS—The University of Indianapolis men's and women's track and field teams competed against teams from across all NCAA and NAIA divisions in their two meets at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Indiana Wesleyan on Friday and Saturday.
FAIRGROUNDS INVITATIONAL
The Greyhounds sent 24 to the Indiana State Fairgrounds' Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion to compete against 20 other teams, including members from GLVC opponents Lewis and Maryville.
The distance medley relay team of Josue Le Cadre, Lateef Mustafaa, Yannis Le Mouillour and Felix Rivet made its debut with a first-place finish, clocking 9:41.91. The squad's performance was less than one second off the Greyhound record, which was set in February 2025. The team achieved the provisional standard and currently sits fourth on the national list.
The women's DMR team of Savannah Danielson, Marina Agapios, Sophia Stadler adn Hailer Orosz made their first apperance taking second place with a time of 12:43.35 and currently sit second in the GLVC in the relay.
Alex Meyer secured another victory in the men's long jump with a leap of 7.27m on Friday. Rivet took second in the 800m, clocking 1:50.15, while Conyer Wilson took second in the men's 5k with a time of 15:26.34. The Hounds took another second-place finish with Dylan Mayhew's provisional toss of 19.00m in the men's weight throw.
Riley Buroff clocked nearly a two second seasons best with a 48.67 400m, securing a fourth-place finish.
Francesca Maurino cleared 1.69 in the women's high jump for another provisional mark and a fifth-place finish, while Hailey Orosz took sixth in the mile with a time of 5:06.31
IWU Midwest Invitational
After competing at the Fairgrounds Invitational on Friday, Mayhew took first in the men's weight throw with a toss of 18.84m, while freshman William Kemper finished just behind him with a provisional mark of 18.62m to take second.
The Greyhounds took five of the top ten spots in the women's pole vault, led by senior Mackenzie VanBibber, who finished second, clearing 3.65m. On the men's side the Keywaun Taylor and Frank Decker were the top finishers in the men's pole vault, both clearing 4.45m to tie for fourth .
The Greyhounds took second in both the women's throws, with Loria Snowden throwing 13.07m to take second in shot put while Maya Efodi threw a provisional mark of 17.29m in the weight. Efodi now leads the conference in the weight throw, followed by Macie Swinehart, who finished third at the Midwest Invitational with a toss of 16.81m.
Brandon Wheat took third in the men's 200m, clocking 22.81, while Amiah Rhodes took third in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.36m. Jorjia Ferguson secured fourth in the event with a new personal record of 5.25m
