Track & Field Gear Up for Indoor National Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.— Just one day out from the 2026 Indoor Track and Field National Championships, the University of Indianapolis track and field squad is ready to compete.

Seven Greyhounds will don the Crimson & Grey on the national stage at the Virginia Beach Sports on March 13-14th.

FRIDAY
Francesca Maurino will kick things off for the Hounds, competing in the women's high jump at 4:35 p.m. ET on Friday. Maurino enters the tight competition 18th, just three centimeters away from the top 10 seeded jumpers, with her mark of 1.73m.

Josue Le Care and Yanis Le Mouilliour will compete in the preliminary rounds of the men's 800m run at 5:05 p.m.  The two Frenchmen will compete in the third heat of the preliminary round, with Le Cadre entering as the national leader in the event, having clocked 1:46.97 at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in February. Le Mouillour enters the race with the 13th-best time in Division II this season, which he clocked at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic in Indianapolis in January.

Next on the day for UIndy, Alex Meyer will compete in the second flight of the men's long jump beginning at 5:10 p.m. The junior enters ranked fifth on the national list in the event. Fresh off his best performance in the event this season, Meyer jumped a new indoor program record of 7.53m at the GLVC Championships.

The Distance Medley Relay squad of Le Cadre, Le Mouillour, Lateef Mustafaa and Felix Rivet will finish the day for the Hounds, competing at 7:05 p.m. The UIndy DMR squad enters the weekend with the seventh-fastest time in the nation after clocking a 9:41.91 at the GLVC Championships.

SATURDAY
Vivian Osagie will get the Hounds rolling on Saturday, competing in the second flight of the women's shot put competition at 5:15 p.m. Osagie enters the competition ranked eighth nationally with her toss of 15.61, which broke the GLVC Championship Meet record in her last outing.

The 800m finals will take place shortly after the beginning of the shot put competition, with a 5:25 start.

Rivet will wrap up the Hounds' performances at the National Meet, competing in the men's 3k at 6:05 p.m. Rivet enters the event with the 16th-fastest time in Division II this season, less than a second behind the 10th-ranked runner.
