Fornek Represented as Allstate NACDA Good Works Team Nominee

CLEVELAND, Ohio— Senior Ella Fornek was named as a nominee for the Allstate National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA) 2025-26 spring Good Works Team nominees, NACDA announced Thursday.

The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team is an initiative to honor and recognize student-athletes who demonstrate levels of volunteerism that go beyond their achievements in the classroom and competition. The team recognizes 60 student-athletes annually across the fall, winter and spring seasons. The 2025-26 team will feature 20 student-athletes, consisting of 10 male and 10 female athletes.

This year, Fornek will be the One Love Ambassador for the UIndy women's lacrosse team, where she'll take the team through training about the One Love Organization, and help plan with the coaching staff for their One Love dedication game. The training focuses with talking about where One Love started, which is after a UVA women's lacrosse player was killed by her ex boyfriend in a domestic violence incident, and then the team will get into some of the warning signs and awareness information, which is typically done through a video on the One Love site. From there they talk as a team about what they saw and what they can do if they find themselves or a friend in a similar situation. The goal of the foundation and the training to is raise awareness for domestic violence in young people, and how people can go about having better, healthier relationships. The One Love game is going to be April 10th for the UIndy women's lacrosse game against Maryville.

She is also the social media co-chair and on the subcommittee for Awards and Event Planning for SAAC (Student Athletic Advisory Committee) at the UIndy. Fornek and one other person create and manage the Instagram account for SAAC, and also helps organize events for student athletes to do things through SAAC. One event she is helping coordinate is a food drive where student athletes and teams will go in to food pantries on the Southside of Indianapolis to help prepare food and make meals.

Along with her extraventriculars at UIndy, is also a member of the Environmental Sustainability club, where they connect people who care about the environment to do activities that help educate people on environmental sustainability.

The final Allstate NACDA 2025-26 spring Good Works Team will be announced at the end of April, and a full list of nominees can be found here.
