SOMERS, Wis.- UIndy's cross country squads both competed at the GLVC Cross Country Championships Saturday, with the women's squad taking a seventh place overall finish and the men taking ninth in their race. The event was hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course.
The Greyhound men came in ninth place overall, with junior
Mark Martinez taking All-GLVC honors via his 11th place overall finish. Martinez crossed the finish line in 25:31 to lead the UIndy men and earn his second-consecutive All-GLVC finish.
On the women's side, freshman
Sutton Knapp led the UIndy women's squad to a seventh place finish. Knapp covered the course in 23:36 to finish 28th overall.
Southern Indiana took the men's championship, and Bellarmine claimed the women's 2010 GLVC title.
Next up for the Greyhounds is the NCAA Regional race, being held in Louisville, Ky. Nov. 20. The Regional site is the same course that will be used for the NCAA National Championship race.
