INDIANAPOLIS- The University of Indianapolis baseball team dropped a non-conference tilt Wednesday, falling 12-6 to Cedarville at Greyhound Park.  UIndy stranded 10 base runners and committed three fielding errors to help snap its nine-game winning streak.

The Yellow Jackets (14-4) scored in each of the first four innings, putting up seven runs over that span.  The Hounds remained close, however, making it 7-6 Cedarville after five.  UIndy received an RBI double in the second from Colby Shaw before getting a fifth-inning solo shot from Aryn Ross, good for his team-high fourth homer.

The Yellow Jackets finally broke it open with a five-run eighth.  The visitors used back-to-back RBI doubles and a two-run triple to fuel the rally and ultimately put the game out of reach.

Cedarville starter Luke Freshawater threw a robust 143 pitches over eight-plus innings to garner the win.  Though he allowed six runs (five earned), the senior stayed out of the big inning to up his record to 2-0.

Indianapolis reliever Matt Widick proved to be the most effective of the five Greyhound hurlers, holding the visitors scoreless for three and a third while striking out three.

Danny Collier, who started the game at first base, had two doubles and a sac fly before moving to the hill and pitching a 1-2-3 ninth.  Reigning GLVC Player of the Week Kaleb Cunningham picked up one hit in five at bats to extend his team-high hitting streak to 11 games.

UIndy (16-8, 7-1 GLVC) returns to GLVC play this weekend with a four-game series versus Rockhurst.  First pitch from Greyhound Park is scheduled for 12 p.m. EDT Saturday.
