GRAND LAKES, Colo. - The UIndy women's lacrosse team began a new winning streak this past week, sweeping three GLIAC teams to improve to 9-3 on the season. The Greyhounds are now 5-2 in conference action. UIndy has held steady at No. 15 in the new IWLCA poll and moved up two spots to No. 18 in the latest Nike/US Lacrosse rankings.
The Hounds pummeled McKendree, Northern Michigan, and Concordia-St. Paul with a balanced attack like they have done all season. The team combined for 69 goals in the three victories, while allowing just 20 scores against.
Lauryn Hardoy scored 13 goals herself and had six assists last week, while
Destinie Katz distributed 25 helpers, over 36 percent of the Greyhounds goals.
Peyton Romig secured 35 draws, as she continues to grow her program record in the category. The freshman has won 119 draw controls this season, while
Riley McClure has taken 54 and has picked up a team-high 32 ground balls.Â
The Greyhounds welcome in No. 13 Grand Valley State and No. 25 Tiffin this coming weekend at Key Stadium.
