Women's Lax unanimously selected to repeat as GLIAC champions

BAY CITY, Mich. – The No. 12 UIndy women's lacrosse team was unanimously selected to repeat as Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) champions for the 2019 season, the league announced on Friday.

A year ago, the Greyhounds claimed the GLIAC tournament title with a 21-13 defeat of McKendree in the championship game.

As teams cannot vote for itself, UIndy earned eight first-place votes from coaches in the nine-team league. Defending regular-season champions Grand Valley State received the other possible tally.

The Hounds have 11 of 12 starters returning from a team that went 16-4 and advanced to the NCAA Midwest regional in just the program's third season. Junior Riley McClure was named the program's first All-America recipient after earning GLIAC Defender of the Year honors, while reigning GLIAC Freshman of the Year, Lauryn Hardoy, also returns for her sophomore campaign.

Head coach James Delaney begins his season at the helm of the program. A former three-time USILA All-American for Seton Hill, Delaney was named the IWLCA Midwest Region Coach of the Year last season.

UIndy begins its season tomorrow at Key Stadium against Findlay.
