Women's Lax Ranks 12th for Third Straight Week

GRAND RAPIDS, Colo. – For the third straight week, the UIndy women's lacrosse team is ranked 12th in the latest IWCLA poll that was released on Monday afternoon.

It also marks the fourth straight week that the Greyhounds have been tied with at least one other team. UIndy is currently on a four-game winning streak, and has scored at least 22 goals in each contest during that stretch.

The Hounds nearly tied the NCAA Division II scoring record on Friday afternoon in the 29-1 throttling of Maryville before moving to 3-0 in GLIAC action with a 22-4 win at McKendree on Sunday. With 16 points over the conference rivals, Destinie Katz was named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career. Her teammate, Cassidy King, earned the honors on the defensive side for recording a .667 save percentage and a pair of caused turnovers in the wins.

The Hounds have been an offensive juggernaut since head coach James Delaney took over the reigns at the beginning of the 2018 season, already having scored 20 or more times on five occasions this year. UIndy scored at least 20 goals in eight games a season ago. The Greyhounds now rank first among all NCAA Division II programs in scoring offense, scoring defense, scoring margin, assists per game, and points per game.

UIndy hosts Davenport and No. 22 Grand Valley State this weekend at Key Stadium.
