Women's Lax Holds Steady in Coaches Poll

GRAND RAPIDS, Colo. – It is just another week in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWCLA) poll for the UIndy women's lacrosse team, as the Greyhounds are tied for 12th for the fifth consecutive set of rankings.

The Hounds are now 9-1 this season after setting a new NCAA Division II scoring record with 31 goals in the win at Lewis last Wednesday.

Despite the victory, UIndy dropped three spots in the U.S. Lacrosse Magazine/Nike poll to No. 13, the organization announced on Monday.

Grace Gunneson is the latest Greyhound to lead the team in scoring with 29 goals thus far, while Destinie Katz has totaled 56 points in eight game this season. Riley McClure has been on a tear defensively, causing 31 turnovers and picking up 25 ground balls already in 2019. Freshman keeper Cassidy King has upped her season save percentage to .519 and is allowing just 4.50 shots to sneak past her in nearly 500 minutes of action.

UIndy travels to Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday for an in-region battle with the Railsplitters at 4 p.m.
