BAY CITY, Mich. – UIndy women's lacrosse senior Lauren Wagner has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. The Greyhounds defeated Ashland this past Friday on senior night, 23-1.
 
Wagner limited GLIAC leading scorer Sofia Michael to zero shots, as the Greyhound defense locked in for the final home contest of the regular season. As a unit, UIndy allowed just five shots on goal, with the Ashland score coming more than 47 minutes into the game. The Hounds forced 19 turnovers, while limiting the Eagles to six-of-21 on the clear.
 
The Upper Arlington, Ohio native also tallied her first-career goal in the victory.
 
The Greyhounds are back in action this weekend with a trip to the Upper Peninsula on the schedule. UIndy will battle Northern Michigan on Thursday before traveling over to Concordia St. Paul on Saturday afternoon.
