Men’s Golf to Defend GLVC Crown Starting Sunday

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The defending-conference-champion UIndy men's golf team will put its title on the line at the upcoming 2019 GLVC Championships, starting this weekend. After a practice round on Saturday, the Greyhounds will face off against 12 other league teams at the GLVC's marquee event, running Sunday through Tuesday at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Ill.

The tournament will feature a 54-hole stroke play portion – 36 holes on Sunday, 18 Monday – to determine both the GLVC's individual medalist as well as the four teams advancing to medal/match play. The semifinals and finals of match play will conclude the event on Tuesday. More information, including links to live results and a video stream, can be found on the Championships homepage.

Last season, the Greyhounds captured the conference title by securing the top seed during stroke play and later dismissing Missouri St. Louis, 3-2, and Maryville, 4.5-.5, in medal/match play. It marked the fourth GLVC men's golf crown under Head Coach Brent Nicoson and the 16th for the program overall. No other school has more than six.
