GRAND RAPIDS, Colo. - For the sixth consecutive week, the UIndy women's lacrosse team is ranked No. 12 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWCLA) poll. Monday marks the first time in that stretch the Greyhounds are not tied with another program.
With three wins over the past week, the Greyhounds are now 12-1 this season, including 8-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action. Over the week, UIndy wrapped up season sweeps of Maryville and McKendree at Key Stadium.
Grace Gunneson leads the team with 69 points and 43 goals, while
Riley McClure has caused 39 turnovers and picked up 38 ground balls.
Peyton Romig - who, along with McClure were tabbed IWLCA midseason All-Americans - has secured 144 draw controls, eight shy of her program-record 152 from a season ago. Freshman netminder
Cassidy King has totaled a .542 save percentage this season and ranks second and third, respectively, on the team in ground balls and caused turnovers.
The Greyhounds will honor 12 seniors this coming Friday at Key Stadium when the team welcomes Ashland.
