INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy softball team punched its ticket to yet another postseason, securing the No. 3 seed at the upcoming NCAA Division II Midwest Regional. The Greyhounds (45-14) will extend their streak of consecutive postseason appearances to 12 – the longest active streak in the region.

As the three seed, the Hounds will head to one of two four-team regionals later this week. With No. 2-seed Missouri-St. Louis playing as the host, UIndy will open on Thursday versus No. 6 seed Truman (31-17) at 1 p.m. ET. UMSL, the GLVC champion, will follow with a match-up against fellow-GLVC-power Illinois Springfield at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The other Midwest sub-regional will be contested at top-seeded Grand Valley State. The GLIAC champion will be joined Wayne State, Southern Indiana and Hillsdale (G-MAC champ).

Both double-elimination Midwest Regionals will be played concurrently this week, with the winners facing off in a best-of-three showdown at the Midwest Super Regional May 16-17 for the right go to the NCAA DII Championships in Denver May 23-27.
