GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Just as it was most of the 2019 season, the UIndy women's lacrosse team will begin 2020 as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) preseason No. 12 program in NCAA Division II.
Â
The Greyhounds are coming off their second straight trip to the NCAA Midwest Regional and have posted a 34-6 record over the past two seasons.
Â
Head coach
James Delaney is now in his third season, as is assistant coach
Erin Abbott. Graduate assistant Abbie McEntee begins her first season on the UIndy bench after wrapping up a four-year career at DII powerhouse Le Moyne College.
Â
UIndy returns each GLIAC major award winner from 2019, including
Destinie Katz (Attacker),
Cassidy King (Goalkeeper and Freshman) and
Riley McClure (Defender). McClure, a native of Ancaster, Ontario, is a two-time IWLCA All-America selection.
Â
Defending national champion Adelphi collected 23 first-place votes to top the list, while West Chester and Le Moyne round of the top three. In total, the Greyhounds have four top-10 teams on the schedule, and six from the top 25.
Â
UIndy kicks off its fifth season on Sunday, Feb. 16 against eighth-ranked Florida Southern.
