Coming off their first win of the season last time out, the Greyhounds return to the court with a trip to Quincy University Wednesday after an 11-day layoff. UIndy returns home to host a red-hot Southern Indiana team Sunday afternoon.

ABOUT QUINCY
The Hawks invite the Greyhounds to the Pepsi Arena this week still searching for their first win. Quincy's last contest involved a close five-point loss to Lewis, where the Hawks lost a slight halftime advantage despite committing just 12 turnovers while forcing 18.

Sophomore Laney Lantz ranks fourth in the GLVC with an even 20 points per game. Hailing from nearby Augusta, Ill., the 5-6 sophomore is shooting 54 percent from the field, 46 percent from behind the arc and 81 perfect from the free throw line.

HOUNDS VS. HAWKS
UIndy owns a 27-23 advantage in the all-time series that started back in 1987. The team's have split the last three meetings, with all three of the Hawks' wins in that span coming in overtime. The Greyhounds have won the last two matchups by an average margin of 19 points, however, including a 76-51 rout last season. That game saw the Hounds outscored Quincy 44-14 in the second half to pull away.

ABOUT SOUTHERN INDIANA
The Eagles currently sit as the top team in the GLVC East Division, running off a perfect 5-0 record under veteran head coach Rick Stein. Southern Indiana and Drury, which is also 5-0, are the only two remaining unbeaten in the conference.

Just like the Greyhounds, the Eagles' last contest was against the McKendree Bearcats, providing a dominating 73-48 performance in Evansville. Indianapolis-native Emma DeHart provided 28 points for the home team, shooting 11-of-19 from the field. She is one of two Southport High School grads on the USI roster (freshman Lexie Green).

DeHart has been the senior to lead the Screaming Eagles, averaging almost 19 ppg in the early season. Hannah Haithcock has been a force under the basket, pulling down 10 or more rebounds in the three of the five games.

HOUNDS VS. EAGLES
UIndy currently holds a 40-38 lead in the all-time series versus Southern Indiana, but the Eagles have taken each of the last six contests, USI has won by average of over 15 points per game in that span. Their last meeting in Nicoson Hall came in January of last year, with the Eagles pulling out a 75-64 win. Liz Alsot scored 11 for the Hounds, while Marissa Knobloch drained three triples.

LAST TIME OUT
The Greyhounds traveled out to Lebanon, Ill., to McKendree Univeristy last week, where they claimed the first victory of the season on a 68-62 final score.Taylor Drury knocked down six free throws in six attempts in the final 62 seconds to help seal it. She the Hounds with 20 points, while Sadie Hill added 16 points and five boards.

TOEING THE LINE
Drury's clutch foul shots at McKendree came as no surprise. The Pekin, Ind., native sports a lofty .844 career free throw percentage, which puts her north of the current program of .837, held by her former teammate and last year's leading scorer Laura Thomas.

DROPPING DIMES
Led by a career-best six assists from junior Mya Scheidt, the Hounds racked up 20 assists on 26 made field goals at McKendree. It marked the first time the Hounds totaled 20 dimes this season, while their percentage of assisted buckets (.769) marked its highest such number since they compiled 17 assists on 22 buckets (.773) versus Bellarmine back in February of 2019.

POSTSEASON RETURN
UIndy earned a GLVC Tournament berth last season for the first time since 2017, grabbing the six seed in the eight-team bracket. The Hounds compiled a 19-10 over the course of the year, good for their most wins since the 2013-2014 campaign.
