NORMAN, Okla. – UIndy senior Erik Edwards added to his trophy case recently, earning All-Midwest Region honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America. The newly-named GLVC Player of the Year earns his third consecutive all-region award from the GCAA.

A native of Louisville, Ky., Edwards played 15 rounds in the abbreviated 2019-20 season, matching the second-lowest season scoring average in program history (71.87). He finished 12th or better in all six events, including taking medalist honors at both Ohio Dominican and Illinois Springfield, while compiling a .934 winning percentage. His opening-round 66 at UIS marked a season low – one of 11 rounds at par or better.
 
Additionally, Edwards led the Hounds to a pair of team wins and one runner-up finish and was named GLVC Player of the Week on Sept. 19, good for his fifth career weekly award from the conference. On April 14, he was voted the GLVC's top player and also took all-league accolades.
