Romig Tabbed as GLVC Defensive Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - The No. 1 UIndy women's lacrosse team (9-0, 3-0 GLVC) was awarded another Great Lakes Valley Conference weekly honor, Peyton Romig earning her second-career mark with a Defensive award, announced by the league on Monday. Romig's honor comes off of a weekend where the Greyhounds swept with two 20-point or more wins against Missouri Western and Rockhurst. The senior's second Player of the Week award is her first defensive honor, her first came on offense in the short 2020 season. The last Defensive Player of the Week honor was given two weeks ago to Cassidy King.

  • Totaled 36 draw controls in pair of road wins to go with two ground balls and as many caused turnovers
  • Won career-high and program-record 22 draw controls at MWSU
  • Took 14 draws at Rockhurst
  • Added eight points on five goals and three assists on the weekend, including team-high seven points at Rockhurst
  • Earns second career Player of the Week award (DEF: 4/12/21; OFF: 2/17/20)
  • Last Greyhounds Defensive Player of the Week: Cassidy King (3/29/21)
