Hounds Come In At No. 3 in Final IWLCA Coaches Poll

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – After a remarkable season, the University of Indianapolis women's lacrosse team closed out their 2021 campaign ranked No. 3 in the nation as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released their final Division II Coaches Poll of the year on Tuesday.

UIndy finished the year at 14-2 with both of their losses coming from the hands of GLVC foe and eventual National Champion Lindenwood University. The Hounds had the top offense and defense in the nation, averaging 19.75 goals per game while holding their opponents to 5.31 goals per game. On the year, UIndy outscored their opponents 316 to 85.

The Hounds garnered the No. 1 slot for the first time in program history this season, coming in at No. 1 on three separate occasions. The 2021 campaign marked their third straight NCAA tournament appearance and third consecutive conference title after bringing home the inaugural GLVC championship.

With postseason awards off and running, the Hounds dominated the GLVC awards, claiming five of the six marquee honors. To date, UIndy has 12 All-GLVC honorees, 6 All-Region selections and 4 All-America nods.
