INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's and women's soccer teams have had three players named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team on Tuesday afternoon. For the men's team the two inclusions are seniors Seth Ward and Mason Stearn. On the women's team senior midfielder Maria Herrero was the team's lone addition.

To be eligible for nomination to the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, must be a starter or an important reserve and have appeared in at least 50 percent of their team's contests. Everyone named to the CSC Academic All-District advances to the Academic All-America ballot.

Herrero was named to the first team with a 3.98 GPA, majoring in sports management. For her on the field efforts, she was a leader on the offensive end, leading the team in goals with seven on the season, while being tied for points with 14 on the season. Her efforts earned her All-GLVC Second Team honors, he second time being selected as among the conference best.

Stearn scored a 3.56 GPA going into his senior season, majoring in accounting, while helping lead the Greyhounds men's team to the playoff for the third consecutive season. His efforts on the pitch limited UIndy opponents to just 21 goals in the 18 matches the Greyhounds competed in, while holding five teams scoreless throughout the season. He was selected to the All-GLVC Third Team in his final season as a Greyhound.

Ward, out Wellington, New Zealand, also earned All-GLVC Third Team honors this season alongside carrying a 3.79 GPA while studying software engineering. He scored six goals in his senior campaign, helping lead the Greyhounds to 40 goals on the season, averaging 2.22 per game. Was a major component of an offensive barrage that took 14.6 shots per game throughout the season with 43 percent of them being on goal.
