INDIANAPOLIS– The University of Indianapolis women's lacrosse team earned the No. 2 spot in the Great Lakes Valley Preseason Poll, as officials announced on Friday afternoon. UIndy falls just behind the Lindenwood Lions, who received five first-place votes while the Greyhounds received three. The annual poll was voted on by the eight conference head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own school.
Defending GLVC Champion UIndy (14-2, 6-1 GLVC in 2021) returns a stacked lineup from a season ago in reigning GLVC Attacker of the Year
Abigail Lagos, GLVC Midfielder of the Year
Peyton Romig, GLVC Goalkeeper of the Year
Cassidy King, and GLVC Freshman of the Year
Sarah Klein, along with several other All-GLVC performers. The Greyhounds enter the 2022 season as the second-ranked team in the IWLCA preseason poll and will be guided by fourth-year head coach
James Delaney.
The Greyhounds kick off their season on Feb. 18 at home while hosting McKendree at 1 p.m. ET.
