INDIANAPOLIS—The UIndy men's golf team will make its 17th consecutive postseason appearance after earning a berth in 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship, announced by the NCAA Friday. The host Greyhounds earned the No. 4 seed in the Midwest and will be one of 20 teams competing in the Central/Midwest Regional at Purgatory Golf Club in nearby Noblesville, Ind., May 5-7.
The Hounds are one of four GLVC teams to make the cut, joining GLVC-champion and third-seeded Missouri-St. Louis, No. 5-seed Southern Indiana and seventh-seeded McKendree. Conference champs Tiffin (G-MAC) and Davenport (GLIAC) will also make the trip, as well as perennial-contenders Findlay and Grand Valley State.
At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals May 16-20 at TPC Michigan in Detroit. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven.
