Welcome back to Around the Pound, the No. 1 spot for UIndy Athletics news, coming to you almost every Monday.

MEN'S TENNIS
The conference title is back in the hands of the Greyhounds for the first time since 2019 as they defeated Southwest Baptist in the finals 4-0. The Hounds were dominant all year in conference action and that continued into the tournament, sweeping Jewell and then Rockhurst on the way to the showdown with No. 21 Southwest Baptist. The Greyhounds are now priming for the NCAA Regional which they automatically qualified for.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Back-to-back-to-back-to-BACK titles for the women's tennis squad is the storyline as they captured another Great Lakes Valley Conference crown this past weekend. The Hounds ran through both Quincy and Southwest Baptist on the path to the finals where they battled Drury, eventually coming out on top 4-2. Just like the men's team, they will find out who and where they will go for the NCAA Regional.

SOFTBALL
11 wins in a row, 29 of their last thirty and a massive senior day victory is what we saw out of No. 6-ranked UIndy softball as they clinched the regular season title for the GLVC. The Hounds welcomed in both the Drury Panthers and the Southwest Baptist Bearcats and sent both teams home with losses to their records. For Drury, pitching excelled as the Hounds limited the Panthers to just five runs across the two contests. For SBU a big 9-0 game one dub was followed with a nice and easy 4-2 victory where Emily O'Connor did Ego things and put a ball into ORBIT!
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
The senior day festivities weren't just limited to softball as WLAX honored a group of seniors that helped lead the program to their first ever National Championship. Prior to that, the Hounds celebrated their annual one-love game, where they laid the smackdown on Quincy in a 15-3 effort under the bright lights of Key Stadium. The defense shined in the contest, only allowing goals in the second and the fourth quarter. On Sunday's senior day, the Hounds let the goals fly for their seniors, scoring 17 to the Missouri Western Griffin's four.
BASEBALL
It was 4-2 week for the Baseball team, dropping a game to Kentucky Wesleyan on Tuesday before bouncing back with a 6-3 triumph over Purdue Northwest. They went 3-1 after that against SBU, closing out the series on Sunday with a dominant win.
WOMEN'S GOLF
The UIndy women's golf team wrapped up a long and challenging stay Sunday at the GLVC Championships. Enduring windy conditions, record-low temperatures, a frost delay and even some snow over the last few days, the Greyhounds advanced all the way to the conference final before dropping a tight match to Illinois Springfield, 3-2.
MEN'S LACROSSE
The No. 3-ranked Greyhounds dropped a top-five ranked battle to the No. 4 Wingate Bulldogs late on Saturday. The Hounds fought but a big third quarter by the Bulldogs was hard for the Hounds to overcome.
FOOTBALL
Brian Dougherty took over as the UIndy Defensive Coordinator / Defensive Backs Coach in the spring of 2023 after spending four seasons at Valparaiso University in a similar position.
