DENVER – The UIndy women's lacrosse team has made it to the Mile High City and will gear up for the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon.
The Greyhounds (17-2) earned the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region and will battle third-seeded Maryville at 5 p.m. ET tomorrow.
Earlier this year, the Hounds took down the Saints on the road in a GLVC regular-season clash by a final of 15-14 after
Joey Fowler scored the game-winning goal off an assist from
Megan Dunn with just 11.8 seconds remaining. Then on April 30, UIndy defeated Maryville by a score of 13-8 to claim the conference tournament title for the third-straight time.
The winner of UIndy and Maryville will go on to the Midwest Regional title match to play either top-seeded Regis (CO) or fourth-seeded Grand Valley State at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Whoever makes it out of the Midwest Regional will then head to Indianapolis for a chance to play for a DII national championship at Key Stadium. The national semifinal will take place on Friday, May 19 while the title game will happen on Sunday, May 21.
