LOUISVILLE, Ky.— Led by Head Coach Melissa Frost, the UIndy softball coaches were voted the 2023 ATEC/NFCA Division II Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year, as selected by the region's coaches. The honor marks the fifth time in the last 12 years that Frost and Co. were named the Midwest's top staff.
 
Frost, fourth-year assistant coach Ben Ferrell and graduate assistants Leah Buck and Carson Hackerd guided the 2023 Greyhounds to a stellar 53-10 record, including a GLVC regular season title and an appearance in the NCAA DII Midwest Super Regional. UIndy's win totsl was good for the secoind-highest in program history, putting in one of just six DII teams to reach 50 wins this spring.
 
Individually, the Greyhound roster featured eight all-conference players, five all-region performers and one All-American. Kenzee Smith received national recognition for the third time in her career, earning GLVC Pitcher of the Year along the way. She also one of five consensus All-Midwest Region performers, including Jocelyn Calvin, Megan Nichols, Emily O'Connor and Lexy Rees.
