INDIANAPOLIS – The three-time defending GLVC champion University of Indianapolis women's lacrosse team was voted second in the annual league preseason coaches poll, announced Wednesday afternoon.
The preseason poll is selected by the league's head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.
No. 2 UIndy
- Received one first-place vote and 43 total points.
- Ranked No. 12 in IWLCA D-II Preseason Poll.
- Has claimed all three GLVC Regular Season and Championship titles since league's inaugural season in 2021.
- Advanced to NCAA Midwest Regional finals last season as No. 2 seed.
- Coached by Peyton Romig, who takes over a program that went 18-3 overall and 6-0 in GLVC action in 2023.
- Played on UIndy's 2022 NCAA National Champion team.
- Return IWLCA All-American and All-GLVC First Team honoree Joey Fowler, along with Honorable Mention selections Megan Dunn and Madison Phillips.
Rounding out the poll respectively in fifth through eighth was McKendree (21 points), Quincy (20), Lewis (16), and William Jewell (7).
