INDIANAPOLIS - The No. 11 UIndy softball team is starting their 2024 season in Indianapolis against Mercyhurst. Due to inclement weather in Cleveland, Tenn. the contest has been moved north to Indianapolis, and will now take place at Beach Grove High School on Saturday and Sunday.
 
The Greyhounds were unanimously picked to finish first in the GLVC preseason poll. The Hounds were also the only GLVC team to be featured in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association DII Preseason Poll.
 
The Greyhounds are coming off a 53-10 season that includes a GLVC regular-season title and NCAA Super Regional appearance.
 
Entering her 20th season as the UIndy head coach, seven-time GLVC Coach of the Year Melissa Frost returns five All-GLVC First Team performers from last year's team, including conference reigning GLVC Pitcher of the Year and three-time All-American Kenzee Smith.
