LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The UIndy softball team moves up to seventh in the recent National Fastpitch Coaches Association DII poll. The Greyhounds are currently on an eight-game win streak and are 17-2 on the season.
The Hounds are off to a hot start at the spring games. All four contests have ended in UIndy's favor due to the run rule.
Yesterday, the Greyhounds rounded the bases an impressive 27 times and only allowed their competition one run all day. The standout event in yesterday's contests was
Lexy Rees' grand slam.
Also, on UIndy's
first day in Florida,
Jayden Casebolt threw her perfect game. Casebolt is now one of three Greyhounds to throw a perfect game in this century. The junior was recognized for her effort by being named the
GLVC Pitcher of the Week.
Emily O'Connor was also honored as the
GLVC Player of the Week. This is the second week in a row that UIndy has swept the conference weekly awards.
