Hounds Finish 8th at Western Shootout

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Over the weekend, the UIndy women's bowling team recorded a program-best finish at the Western Shootout, placing eighth out of 28 teams. 

The Greyhounds posted a grand pin total of 8,432, the highest mark in program history. Leading the way for the Hounds were Alyssa Cash and Cheyenne Beechboard, who finished 7th and 21st in the field of 228 players, respectively. 

INS AND OUTS
In Saturday's individual format, UIndy collected a total of 5,397 over six games, averaging 899.5 pins per game, with a game-high of 1,044. 

The strongest individual showing came from Cash, who knocked down 1,225 total pins in the individual format. The freshman also rolled a team-high 255 and averaged 204.1 pins per game, propelling her to finishing 7th in the tournament. 

Beechboard commanded the second highest pin total (1,160) on Saturday, continuing the hot hand from last week's top-20 finish. She finished with a 193.4 average, with a game-high of 234. 

Taylor Stace displayed another strong showing, with a 912 total and game-high of 225. Aly Asano-Luna debuted for UIndy this weekend, recording an average of 176.25 and a game-high of 195. 

In the Baker competition on Sunday, the Hounds pieced together a grand total of 3,035, the second highest clip in program history in 16-Game Baker Competition. UIndy averaged 187.7 pins per game, and downed a game-high of 236.

The Hounds will compete next at the Windy City Halloween Classic, traveling to Des Plaines, Ill., beginning Friday, Oct 31.
