NEW ORLEANS – Three Greyhounds were dubbed All-America by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this week.
Josue Le Cadre,
Zoe Pentecost and
Alex Meyer each garnered national honors for their performance during the outdoor track & field season.
Both Le Cadre and Meyer collected All-America First Team recognition after being crowned a national champ at the recently-concluded
NCAA DII Outdoor Championships meet. Le Cadre won the 800-meter race and Meyer the long jump, as the two became the first dou of Greyhound men to win a natty at the same meet. The former was also the runner-up in the 800 at indoor nationals, while the latter took third place in the long jump at indoors.
Meanwhile, Pentecost earned All-America Second Team nod after finishing ninth at nationals in the hammer throw. The senior thrower wrapped up an incredible career this season, earning a total of seven All-America honors and two national championships.
