GILBERT, Ariz. – The UIndy men's tennis team secured a top-10 spot in the season's final ITA Division II rankings, coming in at No. 9. The Greyhounds vaulted eight spots from last month's poll after winning their third straight
GLVC title and making another deep
NCAA Tournament run.
The Hounds have earned a top-10 position in the final ITA poll in four of the last five years, with a No. 11 ranking in 2022 marking the tiniest of outliers.
This year's roster sported a number of award winners.
David Simeonov was named the Midwest Region's
Most Improved Player of the Year by the ITA and
Tadeo Gaggiofatto was tabbed by the organization as the
Player to Watch in the region. Meanwhile,
Asier Ayllon Prado was voted the
GLVC Freshman of the Year, while he and Simeonov were joined by
Matthieu Derache on the
All-GLVC First Team.
