KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After a dominant
3-0 win this past weekend over Truman, the UIndy men's soccer team found their way into the United Soccer Coaches top 25 for the first time this season, it was announced on Wednesday.
The Greyhounds came out of the first week of the season unranked, before starting the season 3-0-1 with one GLVC win.
UIndy has been on a heater lately, racking up 11 goals in their first four matches, including
six against Midwest regional foe, Findlay. 2024 GLVCÂ third team honoree,
Alvaro Sanchez, leads the way for the Hounds with three goals on the season, with
Colin Elder and
Gio Terlizzi right behind Sanchez with two goals a piece.
Along with those three goal scorers, the Hounds have four others who have netted one for UIndy this season;
August Abrahamsen,
Jona Hogle,
Nikolas Karnesis, and
Truls Karlsen.
Lewis is the only other GLVC program in the national poll at No. 23.
The Hounds stay at home this week for two more GLVC matches against Upper Iowa and Quincy.
