ALLENDALE, Mich. — The UIndy men's golf team opened its 2025-26 season at the Folds of Honor Challenge, and posted an eighth place team finish.

INS & OUTS
With loads of new and returning members on the team this year, the Greyhounds started where they finished, in eighth place, with a 21-over first round score. But after the tough start in the first round for the Hounds, the team improved on their team scores in both the second and third rounds, shooting +16 in the second, and +12 in the final round on Wednesday.
"Mixed results for us this week," head coach Andy Serketich said. "We had some stretches of golf but overall we lacked consistency."
Theo Morris and Jackson Watkins led the way for the Hounds this week, both recording top-20 finishes after 54 holes. Watkins fired a final round even par round, gaining three shots on the field and vaulting himself six spots to a 17th place finish.
While Theo Morris started the week out strong, as he was T4 after his first round 71, which included a front nine one under. Morris ended the week 12th in the field in par 4 scoring at +4 over the 11 par 4s at The Meadows.
"Theo and Jackson led the way for us this week," Serketich said. "It was good to see them play well continuing their solid play through qualifying."
Alexander Nestun and Joseph Armfield were both in the lineup this week for the Hounds, shooting +19 and +20, good enough for a T47 and 49th place finishes, respectively. While newcomer, Isac Fredriksson, played in his first event as a Greyhound this week, and came in with a T55 (+26) finish.
"It was our first event of the year and so I'm sure we'll see some improvement next week for our home event at Broadmoor CC," Serketich said.
