The Greyhounds play host to its second home GLVC doubleheader of the season, and its first since earning wins over
William Jewell and
Rockhurst. The team will begin the weekend with a game against Missouri S&T on Thursday Jan. 29 for Basketball Night in Indy and Coaches vs. Cancer Night, before the team's Pack The Hounds game on Saturday Feb. 1 against Lincoln.
Patricia Chikamba continues to lead the way so far this season for UIndy as her 14.7 points-per-game average positions her 5th in the GLVC, while she also leads the Hounds in rebounds-per-game with 5.5 boards.
Missouri S&T
The Miners are led by Indianapolis native, Kira Carter and sport one of the best defensive units in the GLVC, entering Thursday's contest ranking top-4 in points allowed per-game (59-4), defensive field goal percentage (.352), and defensive 3-point percentage (.272), while dominating the glass, grabbing 43 boards per contest.
Norah Gum and Anna Finley lead the charge in scoring for the Miners with 12.8 and 10.5 points-per-game, respectively. Along with Gum's scoring efforts, she also grabs 5.7 boards per game, while freshman Ava McCulla grabs 6.1 rebounds per game, which ranks 9th in the GLVC this season.
Rockhurst
Lincoln comes into Saturday's contest with a 4-14 record, and a game against Illinois Springfield before the Blue Tigers head to Nicoson Hall. In the Blue Tigers' last outing the team fell to McKendree 68-79, extending the team's losing streak to nine straight games.
Before her season ending injury, Laini Joseph headed the scoring of the Blue Tigers, averaging 15.9 points-per-game, which positions her second in the GLVC this season. Outside of Joseph, players like Hallie Williamson and Bella Borgos have had to step up in her place, averaging 9.1 and 8.6 points-per-game, respectively. Both Borgos and Wiliiamson have connected 30 plus three pointers this year, both ranking in the Top-5 of the GLVC.Â
