On Tap: With Homecoming festivities on hand, the Findlay Oilers invade Key Stadium this week for a meeting of 2-2 teams.

About Findlay:  Findlay puts a two-game winning streak on the line Saturday night.  UF handed Grand Valley State its third consecutive loss last Saturday, as the Oilers forced six turnovers on the way to a 26-20 win.  The opportunistic Findlay defense collected three interceptions and three fumbles, leading to all but three of the Oilers' points on the day.

Senior safety Isaiah Ballard was named the GLIAC “Defensive Player of the Week” after recording a season-high 10 tackles versus GVSU.  He also forced two fumbles, one of which he recoverd and ran back 39 yards for a score.

Findlay tops the conference in pass defense by allowing just 150 yards through the air per contest.  Its six INTs are good for second in the league.  Meanwhile, junior running back Monterae Williams leads the GLIAC in rushing yards per game (133.0).

Hounds vs. Oilers:  The Greyhounds own a 10-5 edge in the all-time series, thanks in part to their current six-game winning streak against the Oilers.  The two first hooked up in 1955, with Findlay taking a 41-7 win.  However, the Oilers have not beaten UIndy since 2002 and are 0-7 at Key Stadium (built in 1970).

Last season, UIndy spoiled the Oilers' homecoming with a 20-3 win in Findlay, Ohio.  The Greyhound defense forced four turnovers, including two interceptions from cornerback Collin Coffer.  The Hounds held the Oilers to a mere 85 total yards from scrimmage, while amassing a season-high 175 rushing yards.

Last Time Out:  The Greyhounds ran into quite the stingy defense in last Saturday's 28-16 loss at Michigan Tech.  The Huskies allowed 16 points and 244 total yards, both season lows for UIndy.

Meanwhile, Michigan Tech, ranked 22nd in last week's D2Football.com poll, dominated the time of possession by holding the ball for more than 37 minutes.  MTU out-gained the Hounds 127 rushing yards to 18, while freshman quarterback Tyler Scarlett was an efficient 16-for-19 in pass attempts.

Depth Perception:  After starting-quarterback Chris Mills left the game with a second-half injury at Michigan Tech, back-up Rob Doyle was called upon for the second straight game.  Mills, who missed a series versus Grand Valley in week three due to injury, was banged up late in the third quarter and did not return.  Doyle responded by throwing for 101 yards in the final 16 minutes of the game, including a 21-yard TD pass.

Doyle sports a lofty 188.0  passing efficiency rating in his limited time under center this season.  He and Mills have completed an identical 60.0 percent of their respective pass attempts.

Ball Security:  With four games under their belts, the Greyhounds are the only team in all of Division II that has yet to commit a turnover this season.  In fact, the Hounds have played turnover-free football for 25 consecutive quarters, including four overtime periods, dating back to last year.

In that vein, UIndy's quarterbacks have thrown a combined 221 passes (Mills 179, Doyle 42) since their last pick.  Their last interception -- and the last Greyhound turnover -- came in the third quarter of last year's week-nine match-up with Ferris State.

Century Club:  Senior wideout Ryan Forney notched his second straight 100-yard receiving game last Saturday.  He has now reached triple digits six times in his career, including five in the last seven games dating back to last season.

Forney leads the GLIAC in receptions per game (8.0) and ranks second in receiving yards per game (102.5).

On the Mar'Q:  Fellow-receiver Mar'Quone Edmonds is also having a solid season.  Though he caught just two passes for 26 yards at Michigan Tech, 21 of those yards came on a fourth-quarter touchdown reception.  The scoring grab was his sixth of the season, good for first in the GLIAC, and 16th of his career, good for sixth in school history.

Tackling Dum-my:  Senior linebacker Mike Dum carries a 10.2 tackles-per-game average into the Findlay game.  The Bishop Chatard grad ranks third in the conference in the category, while also averaging 12.0 stops in league play.  Middle LB Max Davis ranks 11th in the GLIAC with 8.5 tackles per contest.

Born To Punt:  The aptly-named Aaron Puntarelli continues to be a productive special teams weapon as the UIndy punter.  The Roncalli High School product is second in the GLIAC in yards per punt, less than a tenth of a yard behind leader Chris Vortkamp of Saginaw Valley.  His average of 43.27 yards per punt is good for eighth in D-II and is on pace to top the single-season school record of 42.4 ypp, set by Nick Parker in 2004.
