INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference handed out its first Player of the Week accolades for 2020-21 Thursday, with UIndy golfers
Pilar Echeverria and
Oliver Mast receiving the nods. Both Greyhounds led their respective teams to comeback wins earlier in the week.
Echeverria collected her 17th GLVC Women's Golf Player of the Week award, upping her already-lofty conference record. The Guatemala native topped the field at the Division I
Hoover Invitational Tuesday, carding scores of 71-72-70 to finish at -3. She helped the Hounds overcome a five-stroke deficit in the final round against an otherwise all-DI field.
Mast, meanwhile, picked up his first collegiate win with a stellar six-under performance at the season-opening
Doc Spragg Invitational. The senior and former GLVC Player of the Year went 68-72-70 in the 54-hole event, as the Greyhounds outshot host Findlay by 15 strokes on the final day to turn a five-stroke deficit into a 10-stroke win.
