INDIANAPOLIS –
Hallie Waters joined an elite group Wednesday, as the standout pitcher became the seventh UIndy student-athlete in history – and first-ever softball player – to earn a third career CoSIDA Academic All-America® honor. One of just two pitchers to garner first-team accolades, Waters once again was recognized as one of the nation's top student-athletes for her combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
One of the most-decorated players in program history, Waters personified the term student-athlete in her four years in the Crimson & Grey. The Boonville, Ind., native was named
All-America Third Team and
Midwest Region Pitcher of the Year this past spring before graduating with 3.99 cumulative GPA as a Biology and Psychology major. She is a two-time
GLVC Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year and recently garnered the prestigious
GLVC Paragon Award. She will continue her education at Indiana University School of Medicine this fall.
