INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy men's soccer head coach John Higgins solidified his coaching staff this week, adding former Greyhound Gabe Hall as an assistant coach.

Hall comes to UIndy from Marian University where he was the assistant women's soccer coach for two seasons (2019-2021).  The Knights were the 2019 NAIA National runner-up with a 20-3-3 record.  Hall oversaw the development of goalkeepers while assisting with opponent scouting and tactical planning.

"I'm delighted that Gabe has joined our staff. It's a great sign for our program that we are able to attract a coach of Gabe's quality," noted Higgins.  "He has the knowledge and personality to help take our program and individuals within the program to the next level."

Prior to Marian, Hall spent five seasons (2013-2018) as the head men's soccer coach at GLVC foe Missouri S&T.  Hall guided the Miners to a 44-34-15 record, including a GLVC tournament appearance in each of the five seasons.  His .554 winning percentage is good for second highest in program history.  Under Hall's direction, the Miners were five-time USC Team Academic Award recipients and three-time GLVC Team Sportsmanship Award recipients.

Hall spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons at Division I Dayton, helping the Flyers to an 11-5-3 record in 2012 and a Top 25 ranking in all four polls.  As the goalkeepers assistant coach, he was involved in the planning, organizing and running of the team's training sessions.  He also served as the co-director of the Flyer Soccer Academy that served over 700 youth players annually.  The Flyers also received the NSCAA's Team Academic Award and won the "Flyer Challenge", a community service competition among the athletic teams at the university.

Hall was also an assistant at New Mexico for the 2008 and 2009 seasons, where the Lobos amassed a record of 20-11-2, including a top 25 ranking, and placed six players on all-conference teams and two on the NSCAA Far West All-Region Team. Hall was responsible for monitoring the team's academic progress. During his tenure the Lobos achieved the NSCAA Team Academic Award and had two Capital One Academic All-American selections.

Locally, Hall has been with FC Pride since 2018, serving as the assistant director of coaching.  He currently oversees the boys 8-12 age group while coordinating travel for the semi-professional women's team and elite youth programs.

Hall had a three-year professional career, playing with West Michigan Edge of the Premier Development League in 2001-02, as well as Salinas Valley Samba of the National Premier Soccer League in 2004.

A 2004 graduate of San Francisco State University, Hall earned his bachelor of science in business administration. He was a two-year captain and starting goalkeeper with the Gators after spending two seasons as a starting goalkeeper at UIndy.  Hall posted a 5-7-1 record for the Greyhounds while averaging 4.54 saves per game.
