Women's Triathlon Readies for First Regional in Program History

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The UIndy women's triathlon team heads west to the state of Missouri for the program's first-ever regional meet on Saturday, hosted by Drury University at Fellows Lake.

As not officially an NCAA championship event, this weekend's regional meet is called the Heartland Triathlon Cup and labeled as the West Region qualifier.

The Greyhounds are the seventh-ranked team among all NCAA DII institutions, as well as the 19th overall program in the country. UIndy most recently placed fifth at the Prairie State Cup, where Lix Wilhelm and Miah Sosenheimer posted season-best times in the running and biking portions, respectively.

Freshman Jazmin-Maria Cardona and senior Sydney Rhodehamel, along with head coach Doug Robinson, discussed the upcoming regional on Thursday afternoon and what it has been like to be the first triathlon team in program history to compete at regionals. The complete video can be found here.
