INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy Volleyball outside hitter
Paige Parlanti was voted to the AVCA All-Region First Team on Wednesday, marking back-to-back honors for the program after
Sophia Parlanti's honorable mention award last fall.
Â
The transfer outside is the first named to the top team since
Meghan Binkerd and
Hailey Brown in 2014, while
Katie Furlong earned consecutive honorable mention nods in 2018-19.
Â
Named to the
All-GLVC First Team last month, Parlanti has done nothing but impressed in her first season in the Circle City. The Las Vegas native has averaged 3.55 kills per set on .234 hitting in 30 matches this season, while also leading the team in digs by all non-libero players with 402 (3.62 per set). Parlanti has produced 20 double-doubles thus far, with a season-high 25 kills at Rockhurst (Nov. 7) and season-best 25 digs at Maryville (Oct. 11).
Â
Parlanti was also named to the GLVC All-Tournament team following the Hounds' semifinal loss to eventual-champion Missouri-St. Louis, averaging 5.0 kills and 4.9 digs per set across two matches.
Â
Making its first appearance in the NCAA DII Midwest Regional since 2019, UIndy battles top-seeded UMSL on Thursday as the No. 8 seed. The quarterfinal bout is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET.
