Hitting the road for more Great Lakes Valley Conference action, the football team won by a convincing mark of 70-21 over Quincy this past Saturday. It was a special day for Toriano Clinton, who broke the single-season rushing record after his 234 yards and three touchdown performance. Unsurprisingly, Clinton was also tabbed as the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week.
CROSS COUNTRY
The cross country teams hit the road and competed at the GLVC championships this past weekend. Both the men's and women's teams finished fifth in the final standings with notable performances coming from Claire Eaton and AJ Goecker who both earned All-GLVC honors. Eaton crossed in sixth place in the women's race while Goecker rounded up a 15th-place finish in the men's.
SWIMMING & DIVING
Stepping up to the challenge, both No. 1-ranked swimming & diving teams traveled down to Cincinnati to face the Division-I Bearcats. The men's squad defeated UC by a slim margin of 154-146 while the women's team dropped their contest 146-133.5.
MEN'S SOCCER
Continuing its dominating season so far, the No. 2-ranked men's soccer team easily collected a pair of GLVC victories this past Friday and Sunday. The Hounds dropped Missouri S&T 4-0 on Friday before rolling out a 2-0 win over Drury to cap off the weekend on senior day.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Nearing closer to the end of the regular season, the women's soccer team added a draw and a thrilling overtime victory last week. The Hounds began with a 0-0 tie on Friday against the Miners of Missouri S&T before winning in overtime against Drury on senior day by a successful Maria Herrero penalty kick.
WOMEN'S GOLF
The No. 8-ranked women's golf team concluded its fall slate of tournaments with an impressive nine-stroke win at the Division I Dayton Fall Invitational early last week. Anna Kramer, who was also tabbed as the GLVC Women's Golfer of the Week, finished in the runner-up spot in a competitive field.
VOLLEYBALL
Continuing its journey through conference play, the volleyball team split a pair of GLVC matches this past weekend on the road. On Friday, the Hounds easily swept McKendree in three sets before falling in four at the hands of No. 21 Lewis.
