CLEVELAND – On the strength of a pair of impressive soccer seasons, the University of Indianapolis appeared at No. 31 in the semester's final NCAA Division II Learfield Directors' Cup standings. The UIndy men's and women's soccer programs combined for 133 points, good for the third-highest fall total in
school history, to position the Greyhounds well for another strong Directors' Cup finish.
The Directors' Cup honors institutions maintaining a broad-based athletics program, achieving success in many sports, both men's and women's, with points awarded based on each institution's finish at NCAA Championships. UIndy is one of only three Division II institutions which can claim an active streak of 13 consecutive top-20 finishes in the Cup standings.
The Greyhound men's soccer team netted 83 Directors' Cup points after an historic 2021 fall campaign. The Hounds captured
GLVC regular-season,
GLVC Tournament and
NCAA DII Super Region 3 titles on the way to a program-record 18 wins and a second consecutive national-semifinal appearance.
Meanwhile, the UIndy women's soccer club also made a return trip to the NCAA Tournament, where its
first-round victory secured the school 50 Directors' Cup points.
