INDIANAPOLISÂ - The
No. 10 UIndy men's lacrosse team looks to get back on the field Saturday for the 2021 season, 332 days since their last contest. After a 2020 campaign that was cut short due to COVID-19, the Greyhounds are itching to step onto the field against Lewis University, their opponent this weekend. Saturday will mark the first-ever meeting between the Hounds and the Flyers, kicking off at 2 p.m. ET.
UIndy finished the abbreviated 2020 season at 2-3 after advancing all the way to the
national semifinal in the 2019 NCAA DII championships.
Head coach
Greg Stocks returns for his sixth season with the program, with assistant
Austin Grimes and graduate assistant
Adam Dobis to round out the team's staff.Â
Redshirt-junior
Brian Robb, recently dubbed
USILA Preseason All-America Honorable Mention, returns to Key Stadium with teammates
Kansai Garey,
Parker Johnson,
Drew Billig and
Austin Barnett to help bring back the Greyhounds to the national tournament.
The Greyhounds' 2021 schedule will only feature conference games during the regular season, including four games against other ranked teams such as No. 14 Lindenwood and No. 16 Rockhurst. The Hounds were tabbed as the
favorite to win the GLVC title earlier this week - the second straight year the team was voted as the top team in the league's preseason poll.
