LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association's new poll put UIndy Softball at eighth for the second week in a row. The Greyhounds have also remained in the top 10 for the fourth consecutive week. The Hounds enter March 13-2 on the season.Â
UIndy comes off an undefeated weekend where they topped
Wheeling and
West Liberty in two sets of doubleheaders. For their effort during the contest
Kenzee Smith and
Braxton Downs were given the
GLVC softball weekly awards. To earn her first GLVC accolade after going 9-for-16 (.563) at the plate and accumulating a .611 on-base percentage. The fifth-year also did not record a single strikeout in 18 appearances on the weekend. Smith tossed 16.1 shutout innings, including two complete games. The senior only allowed eight hits and three walks, punching out 28 batters.
UP NEXT
The Greyhounds will travel to Central Florida to participate in the annual THE Spring Games from Mar. 10 through the 14th. The first two days will take place at the Auburndale Sports Complex in Jan Phyl Village, with the final two days in Winter Haven at the Diamondplex. All games will be streamed onÂ
