FOOTBALL
The No. 8 UIndy football continued to thrill this past weekend with a 38-23 victory over the McKendree Bearcats. The star of the contest was once again Toriano Clinton, who accumulated 317 yards of total offense with five touchdowns. His 272 yards rushing is his seventh career game with over 200 yards on the ground. That performance led him to his second GLVC Offensive Player of the Week award of the season. The defense performed outstandingly as well, sacking the leading passer in all of DII in Turner Pullen four times and forcing an interception out of the Bearcats signal caller. On the ground McKendree could not anything going, rushing for only 85 yards in the contest. The highlight of the defense was Dylan Shelton who earned GLVC Defensive Player of the Week.
MEN'S SOCCER
UIndy men's soccer continues to roll, they picked up two wins on the weekend against Rockhurst and William Jewell, moving them to four in a row up to this point. There were four goal separate goal scorers over the weekend with Bryan Moriera having the winning goal on Friday. On Sunday the trio of Caleb Mundell, Seth Ward and Noah Yohannes helped lift the Hounds to a win. COACH'S CORNER
On this week's coach's corner, first year head coach Gabe Hall of men's soccer discussed the team's recent success, the diversity of the goal scorers and defensive production of the younger players at this point in the season.

The team has caught fire of recent, winning four straight conference matches, placing them in the race for a home match-up in the tournament. The team sits currently at No. 5 in the GLVC, holding a 4-2-2 record, only one win behind Rockhurst and Lewis. Hall, who is in his first year as a head coach, said that there have been growing pains. He said he's been working with a very new team and a new system but everyone has been very receptive and it's paid off.

"They've trusted the process they've gotten better week after week, and it's finally paying off, and it's shown and how we play it, showing it in the moments in attack. It's shown and how we defend. So that's just the biggest thing is, we've stayed the course, we haven't been discouraged by the fact that we didn't get results," Hall said. "You look at those games, and I don't think we've been outplayed by anybody, it's just things haven't gone our way. Little details weren't exactly right, and when things are new, that's always going to be an area that you've got to work through."

Offensively the team has had twelve different goal scores on the season. Hall said that when you do not possess a true dominant striker that the goals by committee. Hall said that he is happy to see the guys have contributed so for with the opportunities that they have gotten. The two leading scorers right now are Seth Ward and Michael Tselios with five and four on the season. According to Hall, Ward has created quality chances all season and that has been his recipe for success.

"If you put yourself in the good positions, you're going to score goals, I'd be concerned if we weren't putting ourselves in those positions," Hall said. "But with Seth, he's putting himself in good positions all the time, he's getting good service, and is finishing for us."

The goalkeeper slot has been a position that has been in the hands of true freshman all season. Joey Schrand has been the keeper for majority of the time and of recent Felix Silfverhielm has started. Hall said that, despite their inexperience, both of them have performed very well. He said with a young defensive group mistakes will occur.

"Anytime you've got young goalkeepers with, frankly, a young back line, there's going to be mistakes," And so what you want is you want to see a real positive response out of those guys. And so far we've gotten a positive response, whenever there's been mistakes, but there's been very few mistakes. So that's is a real positive for us. I think it's great for the program going forward in the future of the program."

The Hounds finish the regular season with two more road matches and two more at home. Hall said that they are looking for continued improvement as they wrap up the season.

"Keep trusting in the process, keep playing for each other, keep improving," Hall said. "We feel like if we're doing those things, and we're being us, and we're working hard every day, every game, then we give ourselves a chance to win."

WOMEN'S SOCCER
It was another 1-1 weekend for the Greyhounds women's soccer squad, dropping a tight 2-1 match against Rockhurst. Sunday was a Hounds goal-a-thon however as they sent four in the back of the net. Mady Meiring was the woman of the match, having her first two goal game of her UIndy career.

UIndy volleyball ended up with a split weekend in the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center, winning in four sets 3-1 against William Jewell.
