INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's lacrosse team remains second in the latest NCAA DII Midwest Region poll, released Wednesday.
Â
The 2025 postseason marks the first year in which six teams from each of the four regions earn NCAA berths, with automatic-qualifying (AQ) bids earned by three of the four Midwest conferences: Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). The remaining three programs in the field will be at-large selections based on several criteria. Regis recently earned the RMAC bid, while G-MAC action begins tomorrow. Due to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) only having five competing teams, the league does not receive an AQ; any team from the GLIAC to advance to DII regional competition will be an at-large selection.
Â
Due to the new format, the top two seeds will host first and second round regional games on May 8 and 10, with the Midwest title decided on May 17 on the campus of the highest remaining seed.
Â
UIndy sports one of the nation's toughest strengths of schedule, including the Midwest's best mark in the category. Additionally, the Greyhounds rank second in RPI, second in in-region winning percentage, and fourth in performance indicator (PI). UIndy currently holds a 12-5 record this spring, with wins over fellow postseason hopefulsÂ
Grand Valley,Â
Regis, and
Rockhurst. Each of the Hounds' five losses came at the hands of teams currently in the field, including Maryville (Midwest), as well as four South Region programs, Flagler, Florida Southern, Lynn, and Tampa.
Per the latestÂ
IWLCA national poll, UIndy has played three of the top five teams this spring, including seven of the top 25.
Â
UIndy opens postseason action on Friday, May 1, in St. Louis for a GLVC semifinal contest against third-seeded Rockhurst. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET.
